Top 10 Horse Betting Tips
If you are looking for some general rules to follow then
stick to these:
1. Look at how the horse has done in its last four events. If it has placed in the last four then it will have great odds of placing again.
2. Avoid betting on a horse that has just moved up in class as that horse may not be experienced or capable of competing at this level.
3. Always look for mid-range odds by this I mean not a 50-1 or a 3-1 but rather a 12-1. Keep rule number 1 in mind while applying this rule. notice of the quality of the track. If the track is wet and muddy then a fast starting horse would work better in these conditions.
5. Making a bet should be a well thought out process so being selective and not betting on every race is a good strategy.
6. Again take notice of the odds and if you see a horses' odds lower rapidly before a race then bet on that horse. A credible source must have observed this horse doing very well.
7. Notice how long it has been since the horses last start. If it has been a long time or a very short period then do not bet that horse.
8. For a longer distance race, know the Jockey and the more experience he has the better the horse will do.
9. Notice the post position and the closer to the rail a horse is the better that horse will do. If a horse finished in the top 3 recently from an outside position, but now is close to the rail then bet on that horse.
10. Bet the Daily Doubles and other such races to try and hit it big while keeping these other rules in mind.
Betting is all about reviewing, researching, and making sensible judgments so follow these rules and you should be on your way to a very large payday.
